Under “Videos” in the left-hand menu, click “Add New”
Fill in a title and description as usual
Note: the title should NOT contain the series name, just the episode name/label (the series name is now automatically included, which gives us a lot more control of how it’s displayed)
Under the “Video” box:
Enter the information to embed the actual video.
Preferred method (for YouTube and Invintus):
- select the “Video ID only” option
- choose the platform (YouTube or Invintus)
- enter the video ID
To find the YouTube ID, look at the string of random-looking characters after the “v=” in the URL for the video
To find the Invintus ID, look for the numbers after “eventID” in the URL for the video (either in the Invintus control panel or the front-end of KTOO.org)

Alternate method 1: Plain URL
The second-best way to enter a video is to use the full URL for it with the “Plain URL” option. This works the same way as pasting the URL into the body of a WordPress post. It works with more than just YouTube and Invintus (e.g., Facebook).
Alternate method 2: Full embed code
If you need to, you can use a full embed code (like an <iframe>, for example) for the video embed. This is the last choice because it can’t easily be adapted if the format or display options (e.g., size) need to change – it’s hard-coded the way it is forever.
Other options
You can play with the other display options for video, but their design is a work in progress. Be sure to let David know if you have any feedback of features you need and how you expect them to work.
Series/season and topics
Select a series or season from the options in the box on the right — similar to how you’d select a category for a post.
Note: if you select a season underneath a series, you don’t have to also select the series.
An episode should almost always have ONLY ONE season/series box checked.
Select a topic or topics (only choose topics that really apply – these will be used for things like “related videos” in the future).
Featured image
Preferred: set an image with the “Home page image crop” option to ensure it is 16:9
Alternate: set a featured image directly, making sure its aspect ratio is 16:9
