Add new program to online radio schedule

Adding a program to the online radio schedule using Composer. This can be used when the schedule changes to a new program in a certain slot, but it’s also a good way to have a special program replace something in the usual schedule without messing up the repetition on the regularly scheduled programming.

Log into Composer

To change the station, click on the call letters in the upper left and click the station you want to edit

Click the “Add Program” button in the upper right

Enter any details you want to. The Program Name is the only required field – the other ones don’t show up very many places (if any).

In the “Airtime” block, select the day(s) of the week, run times, and start/end dates.

For special programs that are only replacing regular programs for a day or two, just select the day before the program runs as the “Start Date” and the day after as the “End Date”

Click the “Save” button in the upper right

If your program’s air times conflict with another program, you’ll see the “Conflict Resolution” popup.

This might be a problem indicating you need to adjust another program’s schedule – but if you’re adding a special program, this is actually what you want. For a special program, just click the “Move to Top” button, and the special program will “sit on top” of the regular programs in that time slot (i.e., replace them in the schedule that’s visible to users).

Check that the right programs show up in the calendar view. An exclamation point icon next to the program name means it’s hiding other programs in the same time slot (which is exactly what you want for a special program).
