You can change the layout of a category archive to be more like a series. (The specific layout for series could change in the future, and any categories designated a series would automatically get the update).
Under “Posts”, go to “Categories”
Click on the name of the category to which you want to assign a new home page.
Scroll down and check the checkbox “Series style home page”
Update the category, and make sure you check that the category looks right when you visit it.
