To export Ingest (Record) lists from ProTrack to the Harmonic Polaris:Play Ingest program, there are three main steps. 1. Running a Feed Date Search report to verify that what is sent to Harmonic is what should have been. 2. Exporting the Harmonic BXF Record-List. 3. Verifying the Exported list in Polaris: Play Ingest.
1. Running a Feed Date Search
a. From the ProTrack Main menu select Programs | Program Search Menu | Feed Date Search.
b. From the Feed Date Search dialogue select the dates through which you intend to export feeds.
c. Enter “Y” in the Record Date? Entry.
d. Click OK.
e. You should be presented with a list of feeds for the dates you wish to export an ingest list.
2. Exporting the Harmonic BXF Record-List
a. From the main Protrack menu select Logs | Automation Interface | Harmonic BXF Record-List.
b. From the Generate Record-List dialogue select the Start Date: for which you want to export the record-list. Then click on a blank spot on the dialogue before you click on OK.
c. Click OK. Then OK on the XML is OK confirmation. Then OK again on the Generate Record-List dialogue COMPLETED.
NOTE: It is important that you select OK rather than clicking the x in the upper right corner of the dialogue. I have had it not finish exporting a list. It’s picky that way.
d. Repeat steps a – c in this section for each date you need to export.
3. Verifying the Exported list in Polaris: Play Ingest.
a. Once you have exported a day’s worth of feeds, you should go to the Polaris: Play Ingest. Verify that the scheduled ingest list matches the list of feeds in the Feed Date Search Results in ProTrack that you did in step one. Be sure to check both the lists in MP4-SD and MP5-SD.
